one of the big concepts I learned in therapy that has been fucking revolutionary for me is the concept that sometimes u can just feel feelings and they don’t have to mean anything.

like, I can just be sad about something for a little while because it feels cathartic and helpful to let myself be sad, and it doesnt have to mean anything or change how I act or treat people.

like sometimes u just need to feel an emotion in order to process and work through things, and sometimes it just feels good to let urself be sad about a silly or little thing. and then once its out its over, uve experienced it and now it is done so u can move on.

and I dont have to derive greater meaning from it or do anything about it. i was just sad for a few hours and now i feel better and that’s all that matters.

also the idea that you can just…..have an emotion, and you don’t need to pick it apart and study it like a bug under a microscope to figure out what it is and why you’re feeling it and how it relates to your greater story or trauma or whatever. You can just have an emotion, even a strong, negative one, and not write a dissertation on why it happened and what it means. It can just happen.

My therapist is trying to convince me this is true. Finally she said “this tendency of yours to dissect every little emotion you feel is you distancing yourself from actually feeling it” and I took 20 HP of psychic damage.

💌: a letter concerning bts’ hiatus

i saw this tweet and wanted to add onto it. please remind yourself that it’s okay to feel a certain way, not one person should be ridiculing you for how you feel. we all found the boys at different times, under different circumstances and with different baggages which means that ultimately although we all love the boys, we all have a unique connection with them that is personal to us. please respect how another individual feels and don’t make them feel small about it, it’s unfair.

we’re all humans and we all deal with things differently. there’s nothing wrong with feeling disheartened by all this as long as you remember to respect the boys’ decision and to support them throughout it all because if we feel like it’s been hard on us, oh it’s been hard on them a lot more. they were scared to even tell us :( this isn’t easy for them either and right now they need to know that their feelings are valid and that they too, are loved.

this decision is the best one for the boys and sometimes the right decision is the painful one. after giving us so much, they deserve this. they deserve to know and recognise their own identity and feel confident enough to express and figure out their own colour.

sending love to you all and the boys <3 let’s gently walk this new path of flowers with them.
